Batten down the hatches
Now that Fall's arrived
Get those rakes a moving
Leaves are going wild

Feet are really flying
Don't think I'll get it done
Mother Nature's enjoying this
She loves to see me run

Pile em in a minute
But just you wait and see
No matter what I do now
It goes on endlessly

Another pile to pick up
Another bag to go
Then when it's all over
Tomorrow's wind will blow

Wife will be ah nagging
Bags of leaves I'm dragging
This day it keeps on lagging
I feel like I am sagging

There's no sense in crying
Leaves just keep on flying
Another day for stalling
Leaves they just keep falling.
