We see the road before us

The path is hard to climb

The burdens they seem endless

Our life is so designed

Our disappointments gather

We're lost within the maze

We gather all our spirit

And yet we feel dismayed

We're told that things get better

And true they always do

But pain within a moment

Can linger through and through

We think we know the answer

And yet in life we find

That pain is part of living

And so we start that climb

Each day a new beginning

With past from which we learn

That we are all embodied

With power of return

Hope the only answer

In every day that's given

Our hearts and mind in journey

Of each new day we're living

So put the past behind you

Let your spirit rest

For you are but the catalyst

Of what you know is best

Time is of the essence

Of every burden shared

We're in this all together

And hope is always there.

I originally wrote this poem for my Inspiration site

but my beloved friend Nora who is a breast cancer

survivor was so moved by it that she asked me to put it

in this special site, and so I have.

She wrote a special poem in answer to it

and I thought it was beautiful, sensitive and

caring coming from someone who has been through

the biggest battle of her life.

It goes ~

I see a ray of Sunshine

It filters thru dense  forests

of endless hopeless dreams

Its  warmth and light

now guides me

Through darkest paths

in life....

All darkness turns to daylight

As  shadows of the past...

My life is always  brightened

Because you are the light...

Like beacon in the darkness

In stormy seas in life...

Lost...Alone and fearful

Tears like falling rain...

You guide me thru the darkness

To endless calming shores...

For I am but the captain...

You the hope...my  light...

Like tiny ray of sunshine

Hope lights up the way

To lead us out of darkness

To see another day....

Thank you for being there

for me...

I love you Frances W...

You are the  Sunshine

in my   life....Professor

(P.S. .....I may be the teacher...but to me you are the guiding light...:)

An explanation for the "Frances W" both Nora and I were

brought up by the Good Shepherd Nuns of Brooklyn and

my name "Francine" was not considered a Christian name

and so they used to call me Frances and then they added

the W. because my Polish name was very difficult to pronounce

and spell. So when Nora wants to get to my heart she always

calls me "Frances W." ~ It works every time.

Nora was the scholar of the two of us, I struggled but she

excelled in all her work and so she was nick named

"Professor" by me. By the end of our schooling I had

made honor roll every quarter and that was thanks to

my beloved friend and "Professor" Nora.

Thanks Professor ~ Love Frances W.
